Katy Marks
Katy studied Architecture in Glasgow School of Art, Madrid and Cambridge University. She is an Architect, product designer and facilitator, with a Masters in Environmental Design and extensive experience working with Listed Buildings. She founded Citizens Design Bureau in 2013 and oversees all of our projects. Since then, she has carved out a reputation for a design approach that is human, tactile and practical, with huge emphasis on drawing and making, ecological innovation and collaborative design processes.

Prior to establishing Citizens Design Bureau, Katy worked at Haworth Tompkins where she was a project Architect for the National Theatre Studios refurbishment, Young Vic theatre and most recently the 2014 Stirling Prize winning Everyman Theatre in Liverpool - her home city.

Katy previously lived in South Africa in 2001-2002, where she co-founded SOMOHO Arts, Community and Environment project - opened by Kofi Annan. In 2005, she designed and co-founded ImpactHub, now a network of over 80 not-for-profit co-working spaces across 6 continents. Katy sits on Hackney, Harrow and Hounslow Design Review Panels, is a regular visiting critic and lecturer at the AA, Chelsea College of Art, UEL and London
