Kathryn Dean cofounded Dean/Wolf Architects in New York City in 1991. She was selected for the Rome Prize Fellowship in 1987, completing independent directed study at the American Academy in Rome. Upon returning to New York, she took a position as a senior designer at Kohn Pederson Fox Associates, where she quickly established herself as an emerging talent, designing a series of large-scale projects for international markets.
