Jacob Sahlqvist studied interior design at HDK in Gothenburg and architecture at Chalmers Institute of Technology in the beginning of the 1990s. Jacob subsequently moved to Japan to work together with a company that discovered him through his exam project on organic upholstered furniture. The co-operation focused on the design and development of such furniture for a Japanese market that at the time was distinctly un-organic. Today, Jacob works as Head of Interior Design at Wingårdh Architects in Gothenburg, a role that involves everything from interior decoration and furniture design to architecture.
