Freyja Sewell’s work has an inherent sustainability. Often working with materials that are natural or biodegradable, she takes an experimental approach to product development. Her long term aim is to reduce consumption by making sustainable, long-lasting products which are available on the mass market – and at an affordable price. Freyja graduated from 3D Design at Brighton University in 2011. During her degree, she won a scholarship to Nagoya University of Arts, which provided an inspiring insight to Japanese design culture. Since graduating, she has been working on developing her HUSH chair for production and was selected to exhibit in the Green Heroes exhibition at Grand Designs Live 2011. In 2012 she was awarded the prestigious London Design Museum Residency.
