• Design Manager and Project Architect - Provided and led design teams that produced construction documents, professional architectural services, studies, scopes of work, cost estimates, and consultations to deliver functional built environments for our customers.
• Full-range of architectural skills; environmental considerations; practical design and construction knowledge; an understanding of UFC, UFGS, special regulations, Life Safety Code, and building codes; effective AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills; sustainable and energy efficient design/construction techniques; awareness of materials and methods; systematic design management; innovative and 'outside-the- box' problem solving; the ability to produce and lead others in producing construction documents; consideration for safety during construction and for the end-user; quality assurance and construction support; and the ability to work with other associated disciplines (planners, engineers, project managers, contractors, shops forces, etc.).

• Project Architect and Design Manager for Renovations to Shed 1, Shed 5, Shed 8 – Encompassed interior renovations and roof replacements to a total 144,200 SF of facility area. Combined renovation costs equaled approx. $ 4.6M.
• Project Architect for Replacement of (Main) Entry Stairs to HQ Bldg. 1959 - Design for
the complete replacement of over 1900 SF of paving and hardscape received special consideration to recapture the original architect's symbolic entry and make the paving pattern contiguous, through the glass storefront, with that inside the formal entry vestibule. Project cost was approx. $ 100,200.
• Project Captain of team which developed a DB RFP for Reroofing of and Mechanical Renovations for Bldg. 1816 - Design for select replacement and repairs to over 13,100 SF, utilizing three distinct Roofing systems. Project cost was approx. $ 2.5K.
• Project Architect and Design Manager for Repairs to Bldg. 1807 - Multi-discipline interior renovations, HVAC replacement, mold mitigation and exterior stair tower replacement totaling 35,200 SF of facility area. Renovation costs total approx. $ 2.4M.
• Project Captain and Concept Architect for a design-build request for proposal (DB RFP) Renovation of Galley Bldg. 705 - Multi-disciplinary interior renovations that will: double The meal serving capacity of the existing Galley without increasing the building area; add A second serving line and dining room; provide a major electrical power upgrade; replace the restrooms; add food storage and chiller space; and add a new modular frozen food storage unit. Facility area is 17,2780 SF; renovation cost is approx. $ 2.9M.
• Provided assigned portion of the Hurricane Isabelle Damage Survey/Data Call to support the Base Command and return WPNSTA Yorktown to mission readiness.
• An ATFP Study of Critical Bldgs. at WPNSTA Yorktown and CAX was accomplished to support the Base Command and project costs of full ATFP compliance. The PWO, DPWO and planners use the Study and its budget projections to rationalize future projects of occupied, existing facilities.
• Project Captain and Concept Architect for DB RFP Renovations to CAD 250 – Multidisciplinary effort that delivered interior renovations and technology upgrades, and constructed a building structure/metal roof and wall system over and enclosing the two preexisting CAD 250 buildings to eliminate chronic roof leak problems. Enclosed area totaled 16,000 SF; project cost was approx. $ 5.0K
• Project Architect or/and Project Captain that led or served on design teams completing numerous renovation Special and Specific Projects, over 20 Design-Build Request for Proposals, and over 45 Scopes of Work with Cost Estimates.
• Architectural Job Captain for Transformation of Maternity Center into an LDRP (Labor- Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum), Riverside Regional Medical Facility, Newport News: 36,400+ square feet. Selected to assist Project Architect with architectural design, configuring a two-year phasing plan for the entire floor’s modifications, developing design details, selecting interior finishes, and producing construction documents; delivered on time within the progressed budget. Special individual assignments: full design of a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), two well-baby nurseries, and specialized nurses’ stations.
• Job Captain and Architect for Expansion of WAVY TV Broadcast Studios, Portsmouth - Delegated with developing construction drawings for the expansion of the existing WAVY TV studios and headquarters to include the FOX 43 studios, control rooms, technical support spaces, expanded advertising and administrative offices, an expanded news room; as well as drawings for an adjacent, stand alone building that was expanded into a hangar for the station's helicopter: combined 26,000+ square feet. Construction documents were produced for a select contractor on time and within budget. The customers’ satisfaction with the documents led to providing Construction Administration through project completion.
• Co-Project Manager/Project Architect/Job Captain - Lee Hall Maintenance and Operations Center, Newport News Waterworks - Designated as Co-Project Manager/Project Architect/
Job Captain for a team of 15 architects and engineers. We produced architectural construction drawings for a multifunctional building including administrative offices, a central warehouse, repair shops, training center, and a multi-bay vehicular maintenance wing. 105,000 square feet, costing $12.5M. Construction documents were delivered on time; construction bids were below city budget projection.
