Elizabeth Roberts, AIA (Principal / Founder) brings nearly 30 years of experience working across the New York City area and beyond. A historian of design at heart, Elizabeth creates timeless spaces with a modern sensibility by marrying her passion for tradition and craft with her keen eye for scale and precision. She heads every project at ERA, beginning with long conversations with clients to understand their approach, needs, and hopes. By mentoring her staff to become independent designers and architects, Elizabeth has nurtured a vibrant studio that centers inspiration and integrity in their work together. Elizabeth began her solo practice shortly after completing her graduate studies in Historic Preservation at Columbia University and her undergraduate studies in Architecture at U.C. Berkeley. A native of Northern California, Elizabeth has long been an ardent New Yorker who cherishes her ability to raise a family in the city, immersed in its energy, history, and distinctive design culture.
