Arshia Mahmoodi is the recipient of several design awards including being 3-time recipient of the prestigious American Institute of Architects Award in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Architecture Award and the Japan Architect Award. His work has been published in the United States, Iran, Italy, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Austria, South Korea, China and Japan. His project for the Bobco Metals Company garnered acclamation, including being published as one of the prominent designs in the City of Los Angeles in ‘LA2000+’ a book by Monacelli Press and one of the most ‘Notable Office Designs of Year’ by Architype Review. In 2010 his project VOXEL – a large interactive façade on the Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood was included in the 2010 ACADIA (Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture) conference and exhibition at the Copper Union School of Architecture in NY. In 2013 his firm was rigorously selected by the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) as one of the participants in the first retrospective exhibition on Contemporary Architecture in Southern California assembled around the top 35 radical practices to emerge within the past twenty-five years, including Gehry Partners, Morphosis and Neil M. Denari Architects. In 2015, he was selected as the Jury for the grand Memar Prize, the most notable architectural award in Iran. He has lectured in the US and Iran and has been a guest critic at SCI-Arc, CalPoly Pomona, University of Southern California, Woodbury University and the Los Angeles Institute of Architecture and Design.
