Daniela Ghertovici is an architectural designer, artist and researcher. She is a co-founder of Metrotopia Metaverse together with Zaha Hadid Architects. In her former role as Senior Architectural Professional at Skidmore Owings and Merrill in Chicago, she was part of the design and technical architecture teams on iconic projects such as Burj Khalifa in Dubai (the world’s tallest building), Pearl River Tower in Guangzhou (the first net zero energy supertall tower), and North Bund White Magnolia Plaza in Shanghai. She also worked at several smaller boutique architecture firms in Chicago, including Jordan Mozer and Associates, MRSA Architects and Planners and Chipman Adams Architects, and the retail developer L&H Real Estate Group. Daniela taught design studios and seminars as full-time graduate faculty and thesis chair at Harrington College of Design, undergraduate adjunct faculty at Harrington College of Design, and part time faculty in the school of architecture at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the founder and curator of ArchAgenda Debates at the Chicago Architecture Biennial since its inauguration in 2015. Daniela holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago, a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is PhD Candidate at EGS in Switzerland.
