Annie Barrett
Annie Barrett is a founding principal of aalso architects. Her engaging, imaginative approach to design connects people with ideas to create beautiful and unique spaces.
Annie brings over a dozen years of experience designing uncommon spaces for individuals, institutions, and civic organizations at aalso and in her previous roles as principal of BAS and project manager at Architecture Research Office. Teaching is an essential extension of Annie’s practice and she is a returning member of the visiting faculty at Yale School of Architecture, Princeton School of Architecture, and Columbia GSAPP. Through the design studios she teaches, she nurtures an essential connection between the intellectual, aspirational, and implementable dimensions of architecture. Annie’s work has been published in Log, Metropolis, New York Magazine, and the Architect’s Newspaper. She received her BA in Architecture and Urban Studies from Yale University and her MArch from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Annie is licensed in the state of New York and lives in Brooklyn with her wife and children.
