Angela Brady
Angela is a Dublin born and educated architect who graduated from Dublin DIT school of architecture, completing with a post graduate scholarship at Kunstakademiet Copenhagen, plus a year in Toronto, before coming to London to set up award winning private practice Brady Mallalieu Architects Ltd, with Robin Mallalieu in 1987. Their design studio specialises in contemporary sustainable architecture

Angela was elected President of Royal Institute of British Architects (2011-2013) She reaches a wide public audience as a professional TV broadcaster, promoting Architecture on TV and Radio, along with with published articles in books, magazines and blogs as well as running design workshops in schools and galleries as a STEMnet ambassador
She giving talks worldwide on sustainable Cities and integrated design. Her latest book is a collection of UK experts “The British Papers” coming soon
As an avid campaigner, during the London 2012 Games Angela instigated #DropTheBan campaign and made a film to record the personal achievements of the Architects and Engineers called 'Designing for Champions' now part of the UK Government GREAT campaign

Angela is working on a new documentary TV series “Designing Ireland” which will be a critical review of Architecture, Place and Craft. Angela is also completing an educational careers video “The role of the architect”
Angela has worked on two popular TV series ‘Building the Dream’ ITV and ‘The Home Show’ Channel 4
When chairperson of Women In Architecture (WIA - 2000-2005) she curated the successful DiverseCity exhibition which traveled to 34 cities worldwide promoting diversity in architecture

Personal awards include; The Irish Post/AIB Bank Award for personal achievement in architecture; The Lifetime Achievement for ‘Women In Construction’ 2012; and The “WISE women of outstanding achievement” for leadership and inspiration 2013
Awarded Honorary Fellowship of the RIAS; RIAI; BIID; RSA; Soc Env; Honorary Fellowship and Presidents’ medal from both AIA in USA, and RIAC in Canada, and an Honorary Diploma from Russian architects Institute and PhD(Hon) honorary doctorate for DIT Dublin school of architecture 2011
She was an active member of many influential committees including RIAI Council; Chair RIAI London Forum; CABE / English Heritage Urban Panel; Architects for Change; Vice Chair Civic Trust Awards; Trustee Building Exploratory Hackney, and Design Champion of London Development Agency Board

She was made a British Council Ambassador to Vietnam 2013 “for Innovation and Design” and also worked with British Council in the NENA region 2008 where she led the "[email protected]" British Council project - twinned with Palestine

Angela designed the weekly guide “52 ways to go green” with her #EcoCheckPack, a guide for all the family to cut CO2 and save energy
