Vincent Leroy is a French artist, whose hybrid work oscillates between the real and the virtual, the natural and the artificial, drawing its inspiration from both nature and the digital world.

Leroy was raised in rural Normandy. At an early age he developed a taste for experimentation using the odds and sods of everyday life as his building material. After technical training, he moved to Paris where he studied industrial design at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle. During his studies he produced his first kinetic works. These were immediately spotted and exhibited in various local galleries and museums. After graduation he set up his own artistic studio in Paris, where he is currently based.

The starting point for all of Leroy’s work is movement, how it signals life, triggers amazement and creates new dimensions. It is movement that the artist likes to slow down, revealing fluidity and flexibility, uncovering and magnifying the hidden gaps that often remain unnoticed in today’s frenetic race for speed and performance. By creating his own rhythm, Leroy proposes a shift in the way we see and observe.

Through a subtle mix of poetry and technology, the artist proposes a detachment from reality. Ripples, reflections, superimpositions, the play of light and transparencies plunge the visitor into another dimension that is at the same time light and airy, dreamlike, contemplative and meditative. His installations propose both visual experiences, and more importantly experiences that touch the body and the emotions.

Challenging our perception of real and imagined spaces. Leroy often journeys to the overlooked and sometimes uninhabitable corners of the world to display his ethereal artwork.
Recently, the artist’si Lenscape installation distorted the otherworldly landscape of Fjallsárlón, Iceland as part of his studio’s studio ongoing experimentation with the phenomena of perception in motion in natural spaces around the world.

Leroy has collaborated with prestigious brands including Hermès, Iris Van Herpen, Nike, Rémy Martin and Saint Laurent. His works have been exhibited all over the world, including Europe. Slovakia, China, Iceland, and the United States.
