After eight years of living and working on Lamu Island, Urko and his family moved to set up an office and home in Mombasa. “I was looking for new experiences and new opportunities both personally and professionally. I wanted to draw and design things I hadn’t done yet, things on different scales with different materials,” remembers Urko. “And so I established in Mombasa and set up Urko Sanchez Architects.”
