Ulrich Böhme
Ulrich Böhme, born in 1936, studied architecture at Stuttgart University. After completing his studies he worked in architectural offices in Hanover, Zurich, and Stuttgart as well as the building authority at Stuttgart University. Since 1971 he has focused his design activities on furniture design. In 1984 he developed the successful chair program S 320 for Thonet in cooperation with Wulf Schneider – it has already become a classic today. In March 1989 Ulrich Böhme was appointed professor for design and design methodology at Coburg University of Applied Sciences, where he taught until 2001. Since 2001 he has been working as a freelance designer in Stuttgart. Ulrich Böhme has received numerous awards in Germany and abroad.
