George Tsironis is cofounder and partner in Dolihos Architects (www.dolihos.gr). He is also founder of iLANDarchitects (www.i-landarchitects.com). He is a registered architect and architectural conservator. He studied Architectural Technology in the USA (1989), he holds a BArch in architectural engineering from the National Technical University in Athens, Greece (1994) and an MSc in “Protection of Monuments, Sites and Complexes” from the same University (1999). George Tsironis has been teaching at the Post graduate study program “Conservation and Restoration of Historic Buildings and Sites” at the National Technical University of Athens since 2004 and he has participated in many University restoration research projects. He is a member of ICOMOS Greece, the Technical Chamfer of Greece and the Hellenic Society for the Protection of the Environment and the Cultural Heritage.
iLAND architects is an Architectural office situated in the settlement of Emporios in the island of Nisyros in Greece. Having full awareness of the cultural and spiritual significance of the island of Nisyros, the office's main purpose is to create architectural studies of restoration of existing monuments and new buildings situated in the island's traditional environment. The office is fully organized and it is able to take over any study that will be assigned to it.
iLAND architects specializes in restoration, refurbishment and development of historical buildings and settlements, a field in which its founder and collaborators share a significant knowledge and a long-lasting experience.
iLAND architects have handled significant restoration projects from different seasons, ancient, byzantine, mediaeval and modern, always following the same strict procedure based on international standards and guidelines for historic rehabilitation projects. iLAND architects undertakes the whole study procedure: project survey and analysis, pathology, historic documentation, construction documentation, proposal drawings and documentation, construction drawings, public authorities’ permission handling, quantity survey etc.
iLAND architects, besides the “in house” experts, collaborates with specialists from around the world in all fields of restoration study process such as material analysts, geologic researchers, works of art conservators and others.
