Theresa Wong (born Schenectady NY, 1976) studied product design at Stanford University in California and graphic design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna before joining the 3-D design department at Fabrica’s creative research center in 2001-2. There, gaining exposure to creative musicians and conceptual artists, she began to focus on merging design, visual art and her lifelong love of music into integrated work as a performing artist. She went on to complete an MFA in music at Mills College in Oakland California and is active now in the field of experimental music, touring internationally as a cellist, vocalist, improviser and composer. Incorporating the process of design, she seeks to create performances that synergize various media in the hope of offering the possibility of transformation. Her performances have been included at the Fondation Cartier in Paris, Unlimited Festival in Wels Austria, The Stone in New York City and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Wong is currently based in Berkeley California.
