Teresa Nunes da Ponte works as an architect since 1978 dedicating her practice mainly to the restoration and rehabilitation of built heritage. Collaborates with Casa de Mateus Foundation since 1986 having been responsible for the refurbishments of the Museum complex and the Artist’s Residence, in the olive oil mill. Works for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation since 1999, and has developed projects such as the renovation of the Auditoriums, including the main Auditorium. Also worth mentioning are the projects for the adaptation of the S. Francisco Convent for tourism and the conversion of the former António Borges Garden Cistern into an exhibition space, on the island of S. Miguel, Azores; the refurbishment of the Municipal Museum of Portalegre; the reabilitation of Lisbon’s Hotel School, on a former industrial school and palace as well as Setúbal’s Hotel School, on a former fortress; the refurbishment of Bica’s Neighborhood public space, and the adaptation into a hotel of the the Santa Catarina Palace, both located in Lisbon’s historical center. Co-author of the Urban and Architectural Guide of Lisbon for the Portuguese College of Architecture. Has recently been awarded the 2013 Vilalva Award, for the refurbishment project of the Caramulo Museum.
