Donaire Milans Arquitectos

Founded in 2020 in Madrid, Donaire Milans Arquitectos develops a practice based on a balance between research, architectural rigor, sensitivity to context, and commitment to the needs of its clients. Their architecture is an exercise in reflection, committed to timelessness, sustainability, and adaptability. The team combines international professional experience at renowned studios such as Alberto Campo Baeza (Spain), Matthew Baird (United States), and David Chipperfield (England) with a strong academic background.

With projects in Spain, France, Italy, and the United States, their work encompasses both public and private projects, including new construction and rehabilitation, always seeking functionality, material coherence, and a deep connection with the memory and identity of places. They have received honorable mentions in competitions for the renovation of Plaza del Dos de Mayo in Madrid and the market and multipurpose center in Sanxenxo. Their experience in the cultural sector stands out, both in permanent and temporary exhibition and museography projects, with curatorial and exhibition designs at MoMA in New York, the Venice Architecture Biennale, and the Salón de Reinos in Madrid, among others.

Among their most recent public projects are the Roma Akademia exhibition at Azkuna Zentroa in Bilbao, the rehabilitation and museography of the National Museum of Performing Arts in Almagro, the new store for the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, and the expansion of the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, awarded first prize in an international competition in 2022, in collaboration with Jesús Aparicio Estudio de Arquitectura.
