MOTOR
Architecture Firm Bergamo / Italy

Studio MOTOR, founded in late 2022 by architects and researchers Edoardo Mancini and Giulia Rapizza, derives its name from the Latin 'movere' meaning 'that which puts in motion'— a driving force generating movement. This concept of movement is central to MOTOR's philosophy: while architecture creates static structures, the creative process remains inherently dynamic, constantly evolving. The studio's work integrates architecture, visual arts, and neuroscience through research projects, temporary installations, building renovations and new constructions, exhibitions, and furniture design. Studio MOTOR's current projects include renovating a 19th-century neuropsychiatric hospital pavilion in Bergamo for adolescent mental health care and constructing a farmhouse in Italy's Marche region—a project exploring regional identity and vernacular architecture within the area's conservative context.
