QUIRÓS PRESA is a studio founded in 2014 by the architects Itziar Quirós and Pablo López Presa, following their work experience in renowned international architectural companies namely (Sou Fujimoto in Tokio, Wiel Arets Architects in Amsterdam).
QUIRÓS PRESA believes in a committed, socially-orientated vision of architecture, where even the smallest project has a transforming effect on its environment. As strong advocates of architectural heritage and specialized in zero-energy buildings, their work is a balance of tradition and innovation. Their projects reclaim vernacular architecture and respect for the rural environment combined with a contemporary design and the most innovative energy-efficient systems, resulting in several of their projects obteining the prestigious German Passivhaus certificate.
Their work has aroused interest and has been published in both national and international media, highlighting Divisare (Italy), Detail (Germany) and ArchDaily (Chile) as well as receiving recognition from “Premio de Arquitectura y Urbanismo CyL” (2018), the “Premio de Rehabilitación de Arquitectura Tradicional de Leon” (2019), the “BUILD Architecture Award” (2019) and a finalist entry for the “Premio de Arquitectura y Urbanismo Sostenible CyL” (2018).
