PASTEC-MIT
PASTEC is a family business which was founded in 2007. Using training in electromechanics, the initial activity consisted in manufacturing precision measuring instruments (temperature probes, thermocouples, resistors and heating cables).
In 2010, Pastec moved towards the design, manufacture and installation of lighting systems in an autonomous network by independent solar station allowing the light to be brought outside through the development of its range of wired luminaires associating the wood and stainless steel.
In 2019, Pastec is taking a new direction: to bring light into outdoor spaces without having to install a cabling system that sometimes requires quite heavy outdoor work.
PASTEC had to design a wireless product, therefore autonomous: a battery-powered luminaire designed for outdoors as well as indoors, with a handle allowing it to be moved easily. PASTEC thus creates the first model of its range of autonomous lighting lanterns, the VENUS, a classic style, elegant, robust, with great light output and autonomy.

PASTEC technology and materials

PASTEC has developed its own electronics in order to minimize energy losses, increase autonomy and create an automatic secondary mode with twilight (optional) for lighting for several evenings without any manipulation.
PASTEC is committed to manufacturing that respects the environment by choosing as much as possible noble recyclable materials: after numerous tests on European woods, PASTEC had to select Kapur wood, an FSC tropical wood, for its resistance to temperature and humidity variations, use of lantern outdoors being a criterion. The other recyclable components mostly present are stainless steel and leather. A German battery and a Norwegian charger are guarantees of quality and limit the carbon footprint due to transport.
A PASTEC product is the result of a desire, an idea, technical feasibility research, long months of tests, modifications but always respecting the feeling that the craftsman wants to convey. PASTEC has thus created the autonomous Gascogne, Bergerac and Alphar mood lamps. These oak and bluestone lamps, although technically designed for the outdoors, have taken their place naturally in your interiors as decorative elements in soft light, which is why we also make them on wire. These lamps are intriguing, their light effects take you on the journey of their creation.
PASTEC presents his lights at major events such as exhibitions and garden fairs but also at smaller events in order to maintain proximity and constructive contact with the public. These models are evolving but always attentive to the users who are the plotters of the future
In terms of sustainable purchasing, PASTEC advocates proximity between the buyer and the craftsman. It's no longer a matter of buying and throwing away. Products can be completely disassembled in PASTEC workshop and will be returned to customers like new.
The acquisition of a high-end handcrafted lantern guarantees you a very long life cycle.
