Pau Batalla Soriano (1979) and Miguel Martínez Castillejo (1979) obtained the title at the Polytechnic of Valencia in 2006.
As students, Pau wins the ideas competition of the UIA and UNESCO (2004) and the urban art competition of Puçol (2005). Miguel obtains a scholarship from the Department of Architectural Projects (2005-2006), and obtains the Architecture Award of the Valencian Community (2007) for the Final Degree Project.
After completing the studies, they combine work in different offices with the start of the profession on their own. Pau obtains the research grant from the Technological Institute of Ceramics (2007-2008), and obtains the 2nd prize in the ideas competition of the Plaza Mayor of Vila-Real (2006). Miguel wins three ideas competitions highlighting the Extension of the College of Architects of Alicante in 2008.
The crisis means that the competitions won do not materialize by starting a joint path after founding EMAC (Mediterranean space of contemporary architecture) in 2012.
Since then they win the ideas competitions of the Parque de los Bajos in Roquetas de Mar (2013), the Plaza de la Cruz in Palos de la Frontera (2015), the Rehabilitation of Almansa Park in San Javier (2017) and the School Dr. Sanchis Guarner in the Pobla Llarga (2019). They get the second prize for the Integrated Endowment Center in Morro Jable (2018). The third prize in the Expansion of the Maestro Padilla Auditorium in Almería (2019) and in the VPO Building for rent in Barañain, Pamplona (2018); They also obtain another 5 mentions and 4 finalist positions.
His built work has been a finalist in the Spanish Urbanism Awards (PUE2017) and in the Valencian Community Awards (COACV 2019), and has been published in prestigious media. They have also held various conferences and exhibitions; Pau has been Vocal of Culture of CTAC in 2014-2017.
