José María Sánchez García (1975) graduated from the Madrid School of Architecture (ETSAM) in 2002, and obtained a Phd in Architecture from the ETSAM for his thesis entitled 'The Bath Case' in 2016. He has a full professorship in Design at the Madrid School of Architecture and works as a Visiting Professor at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio (Switzerland), at the ETH University in Zurich and at the IUAV in Venice. In 2017 he was awarded by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) with an Honorary Fellowship. Among others, he also recived an honourable mention in the Spanish Architecture Awards 2017.

The studio José María Sánchez García was born in 2006 and is currently based in Madrid and Switzerland, where it develops public projects won in architectural competitions. It has received National and International prizes such as the First Prize BSI Swiss Architectural Award, Switzerland; First Prize AR+D Architecture Review Awards, London; Architectural Record's Design Vanguard Award, New York; First Prize Ibero-American Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, First Prize Spanish Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism and the Grand Enor Award.

The projects have been published by international and national indexed magazines, such as el Croquis, Arquitectura Viva, Casabella, Architectural Review, a+u, Detail, Oris, Azure, On Diseño, Architekture Aktueal, Rita, 2G or Summa.
