Montauk Sofa

It was 1995 when a young entrepreneur, Tim Zyto, created the first Montauk Sofa. Tim had grown up steeped in the old world tradition of sofa making. The original store opened in Montreal on St. Laurent Boulevard, an iconic cultural corridor fondly referred to as the Main.

Zyto brought in Danny Chartier, as head designer and executive manager and together they made up the yin and yang of what is today recognized as the Montauk brand. The larger than life minimalist space soon became a magnet for the design savvy clientele and the go to destination for interior designers and decorators across the city. You can now find a Montauk Sofa showroom in the most dynamic cities in North America - Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, New York and Chicago.

All upholstered products are handmade at their Montreal factory. Montauk sofas start out with a traditional solid wood frame covered with springs which are held in place by flax rope at 8 points (the highest standard in the industry), all covered by high-density foam and down filled cushions. There is no compromising on quality. The depth of the couch is generous, the cushions offer incredible support, allowing you to sit or lounge in absolute comfort.

Sofas, sectionals, love seats, daybeds, chairs and sleepers are all traditionally crafted to the same exacting standard. Montauk’s range of custom design options enable clients to create furniture uniquely fabricated to meet individual needs and personal vision. Adapt a love seat to convert to a sofa bed, create a custom sectional arrangement or extend the standard measurements of a sofa...the only limit is the imagination.
In addition to Collections of Modern, Classic and Slipcover sofas, is a Designer Series of furniture and lighting.

Montauk is renowned for their eco minded values. Carbon neutral since 2006, all emissions are off-set. All sofas are designed to be recycled with the goal of becoming a zero emission company. Montauk has eliminated all petroleum based products.
