FINOM lights originate in designer Esa Vesmanen’s desire to create an unmatched and evocative light fixture that appreciates wood in a new way. Light as an essential part of life inspired Esa to design products that both celebrate Nordic design and remind us of the importance of nature.
No other wood shares similar characteristics with birch. Finnish birch is solid and consistent in quality owing to harsh winters and full midnight sun summers. FINOM lights have a form that is simultaneously lively, springy, resilient and still completely faithful to the exquisite qualities of wood.
In order to produce the creation for us all to enjoy, Esa collaborated with his brother Jukka Vesmanen. FINOM's bespoke process includes hand-selected Finnish birch and carefully chosen carpenters to create an individual light to cater to the most demanding needs.
