Burgos & Garrido arquitectos

Francisco Burgos and Ginés Garrido founded Burgos & Garrido arquitectos asociados in 2002 in Madrid. Both are professors in the School of Architecture of the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid and visiting lecturers in several Universities like Harvard University, The University of Arizona or EAAL Lausanne. It is a recognized office in Spain and abroad for winning several international urban design and architecture competitions. In the field of architecture their expertise is focused on social housing; while in the urban scale they are carrying out several landscape interventions of great magnitude that give them world wide recognition. They have just fi nished Madrid Río Project after six years of hard work being the most important public work carried out in Madrid in the last decades, and probably, one of the most ambitious public projects built in Europe in recent years. It is 120 hectares of green areas, 6 of public facilities and 420 M€ have been spent. They are also involved in the last two competitions they won: The Lent-Tabor Footbridge in Maribor (Slovenia) and The Official Residence of Spanish Embassy in Canberra (Australia).
