Yellow Window

Yellow window design consultants was born in 1976, when IDEA (Industrial Design Enthoven Axel) was founded by Axel Enthoven. In 1989, the company became a partnership and changed its name to Enthoven Associates Design Consultants. In 2001, Enthoven Associates merged with Yellow Window Management Consultants to widen the scope of decision-support services. This has made us what we are today: a truly multi-disciplinary consultancy. Since this merger, both brand names, Yellow Window and Enthoven, have been in use. In 1999 and 2007, two subsidiary companies were created in the Netherlands and France, respectively.

In 2013, Yellow Window became the main brand name, and the brand Enthoven continues to be used only for product design in Belgium and the Netherlands. In early 2015 we launched a new corporate identity and website. This change expresses our evolving nature, as we are moving along with the changing world and design profession. The brand name “Enthoven Associates Design Consultants” becomes the short “Enthoven”. Worldwide, and for all our activities, product, service and policy design, we use Yellow Window as the main brand. The name Yellow Window comes from American astronauts who could not help noticing that the only two human-made constructions that they could see from space were the Great Wall of China and the Belgian motorway. The latter was totally illuminated at night, and thus the astronauts labeled it "the Yellow Window". Our headquarters in Antwerp are inside this Yellow Window.
