Tate Harmer
Tate Harmer is an international architecture practice based in East London, specialising in healthy, sustainable designs that work with nature. Founded by Jerry Tate and Rory Harmer in 2007, the practice works on residential, cultural and leisure projects that require innovative construction methods in some of the most sensitive natural and historic contexts. We strive to create low-energy, low impact projects with the highest design standards carefully integrated into local communities. Our award-winning work has been published and exhibited around the world, demonstrating that our architecture has both a local and global context.

Our Designs
The practice implements inventive solutions in response to challenging project restrictions at every level. Our expertise is based on a thorough knowledge and experience of the construction process. We adopt a hands-on approach, balancing conceptual and technical ability, ensuring that we can deliver a design at all stages of a project. Our pragmatic approach is combined with a proficiency in sustainability, for example we produce all of our energy calculations in-house.

Our Clients
Every project is different according to our clients’ individual needs, and we enjoy exploring their aspirations, visions and possible restrictions, to ensure these are strategically considered from the outset. Our clients include developers, hotel and leisure operators, cultural institutions and private individuals, and we know that each of these client groups will have different commercial or personal drivers for a project. Our goal is to create buildings and spaces that deliver value to our clients and form long-lasting places that serve the environment.
