“Intelligent, efficient, and elegant,” this is how Carlos Castañeda defines his style.

Castañeda is a Colombian architect with more than 20 years of experience, graduated from Universidad
Javeriana in Bogota. He was born in Girardot, a city close to Bogota, Colombia, and lived in the UK and in
Providence, a Caribbean island, before establishing in Miami in the year 2000.

While living in Colombia, Castañeda worked for renowned design and construction firms where he actively
participated in important commercial and residential projects. From an urbanism stand point he was involved in the design of the Bogota permanent bike path project.

After completing his masters in Architecture at University of Miami (UM), Castañeda founded 2C Design LLC, a design and construction boutique firm, which purpose is providing the market with a new end-to-end service concept. 2C Design allows its customers to enjoy the entire process by coordinating and supervising each of the professionals involved in the projects, assuming the sole responsibility and becoming the single point of contact for customers.

With his design, Castañeda responds to customers’ expectations, establishing a dialogue between modernism and trendiness, between functionality and what is solely esthetical, applying modern principles to solve challenges resulting from the client’s current life style.

In 2C’s most recent project, a loft located in Wynwood (Downtown Miami), Carlos offers a new version of a loft, far from other local proposals with a strong and not often found originality. Through the expert use of diverse materials and textures, such as exposed concrete and wood, Castañeda solves functionality challenges derived from the practice of architecture and interior design. As a result, the loft is a mix of simple solutions of excellent craftsmanship that reflects, in complete harmony, the dreams and expectations of the customer with the vision and concepts of his firm.

Due to his work, intelligent proposals, and attention to details, Carlos Castañeda has achieved the recognition of his peers in South Florida where he is currently dedicated to the design and construction of new residences, and the remodeling of high-end houses.

Currently, Castañeda lives in Miami with his wife, Luisa Gamboa, and his two sons, Samuel and Matías.
