Nobbs Radford Architects are a multiple AIA award winning innovative practice. Alison Nobbs and Sean Radford established the studio in 2004 creating an ideas driven practice with a strong belief in the ability of architecture to enrich daily life. The practice is currently undertaking projects ranging from individual houses to more diverse medium density housing and apartment developments as well as a growing involvement in public and commercial architecture.

Our architecture draws on ideas of place, light and beauty. Architecture exists in all realms of design from overall concept to the finest of details. The practice thrives on ideas that challenge preconceptions to allow a better way of bringing together the people who inhabit our designs into their place, site and neighbourhood. The practice has a commitment to take on projects of differing scales and programs. For us the pleasure of architecture is derived from providing a solution that is expressive of the context, the desires of the client and our skills. The practice has a continuing responsibility and enthusiasm towards sustainable principles. This exists from the fundamental considerations of site suitability, orientation, passive design principles and to evolving technologies. We believe in a well considered, long term approach to the implementation of these systems.

This is the stage where the fulfillment of our and the client’s desire, dreams and hard work take place. Nobbs Radford Architects understand the importance of direct contact with the head contractor in order to ensure the project is correctly implemented. Nobbs Radford administer all aspects of the AIA contracts from processing and validating progress claims to routine site visits where the reality of the work we have envisaged is checked for quality and correctness. This is an exciting stage of the process and we create the framework for the best possible result.
