Valode & Pistre

Valode & Pistre is an international architectural practice, founded in 1980 by its current partners, covering expertise in interior design, urban design and engineering and with offices established in Paris, Moscow, Warsaw, Beijing and Shanghai. Denis VALODE and Jean PISTRE, currently pursue their research and reflection through important, diversified programs, whether the subject is high buildings, shopping centres, hospitals or entire urban districts. In all sectors of intervention Denis VALODE and Jean PISTRE strive to transfer ideas and innovations across domains, and to undertake a fundamental analysis going beyond the specific project. Particular concerns are for the quality of the working environment, the successful cohabitation of contemporary and existing architecture and the appropriate use of new technologies and ideas (new structures, materials and respect for the environment). The notoriety of the office is founded on projects resulting from this process such as the Museum of Contemporary art of Bordeaux, the L'Oreal Factory in Aulnay sous Bois, Technocentre Renault, the Headquarters of Shell and Air France, the University Leonard de Vinci at la Defense, the Court St. Emilion at Bercy, and more recently the Tower T1 at La Défense and the Lille Metropole Main Stadium.

Convinced of the need for a multidisciplinary approach, they often work with engineers, human sciences specialists and artists as a token of constant opening on new creation. Respecting the contextual and ecological dimension, they develop and build projects in many countries, Spain, Italy, Great Britain, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia, Lebanon, Morocco, Mexico, China and India.
