Giovanni Casellato is an Italian artist from Maser who produces sculpture made of iron. He has been interested in design ever since.
"I am surrounded by metal since I was a child. My father and my grandfather both were metalworkers. I remember the nasty smell of the various liquids that were used for the treatment the iron. I remember the noices that came out of my father's lab." His scultures are made of different types of iron. "Iron is a quite dirty material which is difficult to manage. That is why it such a challenge to work with it."
Giovanni Casellato graduated at the IUAV at Venice. His works have been exhibited throughout Europe. According to the artist, he has been influenced by Achille Castiglioni.
His sculptures reflect his way of thinking, his mood and his physical and mental concepts. "Dedicated to Mario Brunello", "Sufi Dancer", "Butterfly" and "Emigrant" are only some examples.
