In 1984, Didier BERGER, student at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chausées and Marie-Hélène BADIA, student at the Ecole d’Architecture de Paris Belleville, are announced as finalists for the architectural design competition of the new Paris Opéra at Bastille. Taking an unconventional approach, their design earns a ‘high distinction’ and consequently is largely featured in architectural publications. This experience opens the door for their first civic design project, before leading to the creation of the Badia Berger architectural studio in 1996.

Since then, Marie-Hélène Badia and Didier Berger have broadened their repertoire for conceptualizing and delivering varied building typologies – from residential projects, to large-scale public buildings. Currently, there are close to a dozen projects under construction, and 11 undergoing design development.

Badia Berger studio is to this day lead by principal architects Marie-Hélène Badia and Didier Berger, as well as a team of 18 passionate architects and 3 administrative staff. The size and structure of the studio assures a creative and dynamic workflow while the professionalism and experience of our architectural team ensures that every project is approached from a considered angle and executed to a fine detail of resolution.
