Rodet

n 1946, Henri Rodet revived his family know-how exploited since three generations, and opened a workshop of artisanal iron and steel work in Anneyron (France), in the middle of the Drome des Collines. Very quickly, the quality of Rodet production of the iron work, with the work of the steel tube would be associated with the great names of French and European industry. In his factory located in the Drôme (France), for nearly 40 years Rodet has produced furniture out of steel tube which is robust and timeless and dedicated to the communities: his chairs, tables and benches of school were used by generations of French pupils. Today, Rodet extends his know-how to the furniture of dwelling with the ambition to give to steel tubes their good reputation back: durable, innovating, and sensitive. This first collection is carried out by Fred Rieffel and V8 Designers. Fred Rieffel (1967), awarded many times in France and abroad, whose humble and delicate work, based on the drawing and the line, naturally echoes Rodet’s curved tube. V8 Designers (Pierre Bindreiff & Sébastien Geissert, 1978), endeavour, with a certain sense of humour, to domesticate the steel tube often associated with the world of industry or do-it-yourself.
