O-office Architects
O-office Architects is a Guangzhou-based practice established by Jianxiang HE and Ying JIANG in 2007. Motivated to explore new architectural possibilities within the contemporary Chinese context since 2003, both partners share a similar trans-cultural background: Jianxiang graduated from University of Leuven, Belgium, and Ying from Ecole d’architecture de Versailles, France.
O-office tests their methodology in projects across different scales, from urban design, interior and landscape design to exhibition and furniture design. While looking for unique and outstanding solutions for their clients, the team is comprised of young and talented designers with multidisciplinary backgrounds. In 2012, O-office moved to Liwan’s Canton Beer Factory silo, near Guangzhou’s old downtown, and transformed the top floor of the storage tower into their office and cultural gathering space. Reconversion projects include the ongoing 20-acre Honghua Printing & Dyeing Factory into Shenzhen’s iD TOWN Art District, Value Factory of 2013 Shenzhen Hong Kong Bi-city Biennale and for EMG●Art Foundation the cultural venues in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, and in 2014 the renovation of Palazzo Zen in Venice, Italy.
