Lagos Design Studios

Founded in 1996, Lagos Design Studios is an interdisciplinary agency with headquarters in Florence and offices in Rome and Sofia (Bulgaria) and operates in graphic, web, industrial, interior and environmental design, as well as the art direction of happenings and events. At its debut, it was among the first agencies to be involved in the research of common perspectives between the tradition of Italian design and the new communication issues of the moment, finding a common ground in the first web design experiments. Besides multimedia and web design Lagos Design Studios is well versed in graphic and packaging design, conception and realization of displays, exhibitions and events. Design is always preceded by careful and attentive research and development activity, geared to evaluate the client’s requirements and to respond with an adequate communication project, capable of distinguishing itself for absolute quality in compliance with short and mid term market tendencies. At the turning of the year 2000, Lagos Design Studios was the promoter of a series of important events: the art direction of the Millennium new year celebrations in Florence, attracting a crowd of over 400,000 people, and setting a record figure of just over a million contacts in one day on the event’s website. In the year 2002 and again in 2003 Lagos Design Studios organized X-Media, a series of conferences on design which promoted the visibility of some of the most significant international realities regarding the theory and practice of communication design. In 2006 Lagos Design Studios opened offices in Sofia, a territory that is culturally far from the consolidated routes of contemporary design but not for this reason infertile territory for the development and growth of new competitive business enterprises. Today Lagos Design Studios looks with much interest towards the Middle East as the new market for design culture. During the first fifteen years of its activity Lagos Design Studios has on several occasions been involved with the marketing of Food & Wine products creating the image and the relative communication devices for important businesses and institutions in the enogastronomical sector such as wine and olive oil producers, country hotels and resorts, consortiums, D.O.P. (Certificate of Product Origin), Strade del Vino (itineraries for visiting regional wineries). Lagos Design Studios has participated on a number of occasions in work groups for EU financed projects, studying territorial marketing and brand image for both European Community countries as well as in the euromediterranean area. Lagos Design Studios was founded by Mirko Tattarini, CEO of Lagos and professor of Design Strategies at ISIA in Florence.
