Sahil & Sarthak

Sarthak & Sahil are designers with diverse design backgrounds, who have mastered the art of synchronizing their individual creative expressions to create projects and objects that are reflective yet bold, provocative yet poetic. The conception of this partnership took place in Milan while they were pursuing their Masters in Design from Politecnico di Milano. After completing their Master in Design from Politecnico Di Milano, they were selected for the prestigious Project I-nova were they were given the opportunity to work for the historic furniture company, the Poltrona Frau Group, under the mentorship of renowned Architect/ Designer Mr. Guilio Cappellini. This experience gave them an international perspective towards the Indian market and also the opportunity to converge their varied design skills in an effective way. In 2009 they decided to come back to India and start their own design studio in Delhi, with the strong belief that Ethic, Ethnic and Ecology can be interwoven with our contemporary lifestyle. Since then they have transformed their ideas into a successful brand that creates products and spaces that are beautiful, functional and ASAP “As Sustainable As Possible”. Their expertise lies in customizing products, furniture, Lighting and installations by the Innovative use of Indian craftsmanship and materials to furnish contemporary living spaces. Going by the same philosophy, they introduced the “Zero Kilometer Design” approach in designing commercial spaces such as boutique hotels and landmark restaurants. Their reflective yet innovative products have been published nationally and internationally and showcased at various design platforms such as Salone del Mobile Milan, Alchemy Festival London and the Ambiente Fair Frankfurt. More recently, their products have also been showcased at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan and Cappellini Next Exhibition in 2012. Their most popular collection remains the Katran Furniture Collection that has been awarded the Elle Décor International Design award, India 2011 and India Design Forum award (Best product Category) in 2013. Recognizing their innovative business model, they were awarded the Young Creative Entrepreneur Award by the British Council of India and their products have been shortlisted for the India Now Exhibition at the V&A London for 2015.
