Rue Monsieur Paris
Rue Monsieur Paris is a French based furniture company founded in 2012 by a trio of friends sharing the same aesthetic values who met in Paris: Marjorie Renner, Marcin Kokowski and Marjan Denkov. The art direction was entrusted to Marjan Denkov, Paris Fine Arts Academy graduate and accomplished artist for whom the medium is not a constraint. Denkov, with his artistic approach, does not hesitate to use different artistic languages and visual supports. Giacomo Puccini’s ultimate opera inspired the name of the first collection ‘Turandot’ and its main characters became the names of the individual pieces. This collection reveals a minimalistic approach, featuring geometric and organic shapes. Monolith and hybrid creations, such as an art object, echo mid 20th century British sculpture and Op Art. Following the motto of Rue Monsieur Paris ‘dolce e utile’ (sweet & useful), functional, yet very aesthetic pieces of furniture have been designed and created, using natural materials such as wood, glass and stone. To further enhance the refined aspect of the collection, several pieces were crafted using a highly-skilled wood lamination technique resulting in a unique finish and some extraordinary shapes. To sign the 1st capsule collection the trio invited a Filipino young designer Vito Selma, whose bold lines and structures resulted in the creation of a range of impeccably contemporary pieces perfectly completing the ‘Turandot’ Collection by Rue Monsieur Paris.
