Gaëlle Gabillet et Stéphane Villard met at ENSCI - Les Ateliers in Paris from which they both graduated in 2000 and 2001 respectively. Stéphane Villard was head of R&D at EDF in 2001 and Gaëlle Gabillet created her studio in Paris in 2003. After 10 years of activity they decided to do research work together and founded the GGSV studio in 2010. They were both laureates Carte Blanche VIA in 2011 with their research design project “objet trou noir.” Since, they have been edited by the Cat Berro Gallery and Made in Design. At the same time Gaëlle Gabillet teaches design at l’ESAD in Reims and Stéphane Villard is the director of a workshop project at l’ENSCI - Les Ateliers. Our work varies between practical propositions and projects that convey a message. We research forms that offer numerous interpretations. The material is at the heart of the problem. Our production follows a contradiction: we create objects with the aim to use fewer.
