María González (Huelva 1975) and Juanjo Lopez de la Cruz (Sevilla 1974) are architects since 2000 when they found Sol89, a study from which they combine research, teaching and professional activity. They have won several prizes in competitions such as the first prizes of the Andalusian Institute of Biotechnology in Seville (2002), the Congress Centre of Ayamonte (2004), the Biennial of Contemporary Art of Seville (2008), the third prize of the Pavilion for the Book Fair of Madrid (2008) or the first runner-up prize in the International Competition for Intervention in the Castello Aragonese of Naples (2009). They have been invited as lecturers and professors in many academic and college forums and their built work has been collected in several scientific publications from Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Korea or China, receiving recognition as the first price of XIII Architectural Award of the College of Architects in Huelva in 2006, first price of ASCER Architectural Award 2012 and the selection of six works for the Catalogue of Spanish Young Architects Programme Arquia/ Próxima (Barcelona 2008-2012). Since 2005 they combine their professional activity with research and teaching as professors in the Department of Projects of the School of Architecture in Seville, where María is a member of the Research Group Urban Recycling: Residential Tissue Retraining for Sustainable Development and Juanjo is a member of the Editorial Board of the Draft magazine, Project, Progress, Architecture. In 2012 Juanjo has published his first book entitled Proyectos Encontrados. Arquitecturas de la alteración y el desvelo.
