HHD_FUN

Zhenfei Wang and Luming Wang graduated from Berlage Institute in Rotterdam with a Advanced Master degree of architecture in 2007. He worked in UNStudio(Amsterdam) and Mvrdv(Rotterdam). Before that, he gained his Bachelor degree of Architecture from Tianjin University. They founded HHD_FUN in 2008. HHD_FUN is a design and research studio, which consisted of young architectures, designers, program designers. Parametric design and sustainable development are their research orientation. With interests in bringing knowledge from various fields outside of architecture and applying them into architecture design, they devote themselves into producing some “unexpected” designs which distinguished from the conventional. The mathematics, geometric principles，algorithms, BIM, electronics and Artificial Intelligence are one portion of their approaches as the means in architecture generation. HHD_FUN are cooperating with people from all walks of life, such as artists, fashion designers, mathematicians and engineers etc. They are exploring the new design possibilities by means of this cross-over cooperation. Zhenfei Wang awarded the third prize of the New Chinese Architecture at CA’ASI which held by Architecture Studio office and AREA magazine. As a part of the 2010 Venice Biennale, this exhibition has opened on 25th September, 2010. As an emerging architecture, HHD_FUN was invited to attend the “Machinic Processes” Architecture Biennial Beijing 2010 which organized by Professor Weiguo Xu and Neil Leach. As cross-over architects, HHD_FUN is keeping in close touch with artists, designers and engineers from various fields. In the Double Infinity Exhibition which was held by Van Abbe from Holland and Art hub from Shanghai in May, 2010, he was invited to design the exhibition space as an architect curator and artist. The prince and prime minister of Holland visited the exhibition and thought highly of it.
