Hirotaka Kidosaki, Principal of the firm, worked for Kenzo Tange Associates for 13 years, and was a vice president during his later years there. After leaving the firm, he founded Architect Five with three other co-workers from Kenzo Tange Associates in 1993. Kidosaki Architects Studio was established in 2000. A number of our projects have been featured in Japanese architecture magazines, such as Global Architecture and Shin-Kenchiku. Moreover, several projects have been awarded prizes in the design field. Our Jakuseian project was granted Good Design Award in 2006. Essential aspects of our design work include having quality and dignity at the same time, creating architecture that matures as time passes and actualizing places where Japanese art, craft and architecture can meet and join together.
