MSa Michele Sandilands architects is driven by a philosophy of practice that questions conventional assumptions to achieve a design that is site and client specific rather than one that conforms to a predetermined style. The topography of a site is strongly suggestive of an architectural solution and our early intuitive responses are valuable and often indicate an idea which is to be pursued and deemed the most appropriate. Thereafter a collaborative process with clients, specialist consultants and builders allows an open exploration of options and innovations, and enables a clear understanding of the most appropriate solution. In each project we seek to uncover the inherent spirit of place particular to the site, and interpret the constraints as indicators of appropriate design.
