DeMakersVan

Demakersvan is a collective of Dutch designers. This Dutch design studio deliberately hides behind its name, which means "the one who makes." The companies they have collaborated with are: Fatboy, Droog design, Swarovsky and many others.... At the White Moon Gallery they presented an ingenious design product, the result of high technicality, The Cinderella Table. The Cinderella project was created through new industrial methods. A unique table, as if it were hand-drawn, carved from a single block, absolutely unconstructible by the human hand. Its shapes and the transparency of its marble (ultralight at only 8 mm thick), are the result of using mass production tools for art objects. Already promoted as an icon of the 21st century, this strikingly shaped piece of furniture was created in 2005, and designer Verhoeven named his table "Cinderella," in reference to the 5-saw robot morphing tool. Cinderella is a virtuoso piece, the perfect example of high-fashion design that exists only in limited series, where each piece is unique... Demakersvan lives and works in Rotterdam.
