Nottoscale is a Bay Area based architecture and design studio that combines a distinctively modernist European approach with an American sense of innovation and curiosity. Our unique background of being fully immersed in diverse cultural settings and mindsets enables us to approach projects with a fresh perspective in order to create a unique, innovative and singular design for our clients.

As a multidisciplinary design driven practice, we focus on an integrative and collaborative process that explores a deeper connectivity between site, space and user. Our projects range from custom residential, off-grid and prefab homes to ADU’s, remodels and commercial projects such as restaurants, night clubs, retail stores, doctor offices and public structures both in the US and abroad.

Our work is rooted in an exploration and generation of a vocabulary that is informed by program, process, the innovative use of material and an emphasis on spatial relationships. We use the analysis and integration of given constraints – like site conditions, technical as well as material properties, economic limits and program requirements – as an opportunity for creativity, emphasizing the unique character of each project.

Nottoscale’s work has received national and international awards and has been widely published in publications such as The New York Times, Wallpaper, Metropolis, Sunset Magazine and Architectural Record, to name a few.
