MIMA
Architecture Firm Viana do Castelo / Portugal
The Design work of MIMALISM is led by Marta Brandao & Mario Sousa. They take care of the full design process, from concept to production and art direction, ensuring the quality and overall consistency of the brand.
Trained as architects, the swiss-based duo Mario and Marta have early understood the fundamental role of objects and furniture pieces on the perception of the architectural space.
They lead the work of the studio MIMA Lab, in Portugal and Switzerland. They enjoy experimenting with buildings, objects, images and shapes.
After having been recognized and awarded in architecture, they have decided to transpose their particular design language to minimal and sophisticated furniture pieces.
"Above all, we believe in intelligent beauty. Intelligence goes beyond the old dictum form-and-function to reach a state where it directly triggers emotions.“
