Schweger Associated Architects

In 1964 Peter P. Schweger and Heinz Graaf founded the architectural partnership of Graaf-Schweger. Since 2012, the office was renamed SCHWEGER ARCHITEKTEN GmbH, with offices in Hamburg, Berlin and Munich. Our understanding of architecture focuses on quality and innovation and we consistently aim for holistic and seminal solutions. The office has projected and implemented ambitious architectural designs for prominent private, institutional and other public clients in Germany and abroad. Our projects range from cultural, residential, commercial and public buildings to masterplanning and the redevelopment of historic structures. For many years now, an important part of our work has been concerned with modernizing, restructuring and converting listed historic buildings. The revitalization of the Bundesrat, the Federal Council building in Berlin, the BMW high-rise site in Munich, and the Ministry for Families in Berlin are the most outstanding examples of this commitment. SCHWEGER ARCHITEKTEN also develop energy and resource-saving master concepts, among others for the Main Tower, Frankfurt/Main. Using innovative technologies and new façade systems we changed the Tower into a low-energy building. The Project Saxonian State Archives in Dresden is impressive for its architectural quality and maximum energy efficiency. In 2010 it was distinguished with the German Low-Energy Building Award. Next to a number of projects which presently are in planning stage or under construction SCHWEGER ARCHITEKTEN successfully have been participating in national and international competitions.
