Since 1990, Mariani’s professional activity, based in a studio in Montecatini Terme; has focused on interior design and architecture. He has realized a series of houses, among them Private House in Monsummano Terme (1989-90) and Benigni House in Buggiano (1995-98). Mariani has also penned the design of many banks in Tuscany, such as those in Pontedera (1991-95), Fornacette (1993-95), Poggibonsi (1994-96), Donoratico (1997-2002) and offices for Cabel in Empoli (1992-97) and Milan (1998). In 1999 his architecture was awarded first place in the “Premio Dedalo alla committenza” competition. Mariani has also submitted plans to the competitions for the new CAF industrial complex in Campi Bisenzio (2001) and for a scholastic building in Pistoia. In 2005 Verbavolant editor has published a monograph about his work, called “Massimo Mariani Progetti 1980-2005”, His projects that are currently under construction include an addition to an elementary school and a cemetery (both in Ponte Buggianese), and two apartments, in Florence and in Empoli. During september 2008, it was finished an office building in Empoli, the Cabel Industry headquarter. Recently the museum in Castelfiorentino (FI) for work of Benozzo Gozzoli is finished.
