Cornelius + Vöge

CORNELIUS + VÖGE was established in 2006 by architects Nanna Vöge and Dan Cornelius. The studio is located in a former printer’s workshop in the heart of Roskilde. The fields of work are mainly cultural, residential and institutional projects as well as urban planning and interior design. Our approach can be described as a narrative Nordic architecture - a communicative expres-sion where the buildings tell stories. Our intention is to merge the qualities of the building site with the programmatic aspect in a symbiosis based on a strong architectural concept expres-sed in a simple, modern and distinctive language. Each task’s complexity is approached through the study of space, structure, details, materials and techniques. The projects must express and unite the sensual, poetic and adventurous with the pragmatic and precise - both in detail as well as in conceptual ideas. This method connects the over-all main concept with the smallest details and creates a link between process and synthesis. The studio participates in various national and international competitions as an important part of the professional development. Currently the office is working on the 2 largest projects so far: House of The North Atlantic in Odense, Denmark and Hatlehol Church in Norway. Both projects won in competitions.
