Andy Martin was born is Australia where he studied Architecture in Sydney and then at the Architectural Association in London and finishing with a masters at Columbia. In between education he spent 3 years in Hawaii surfing and shaping surfboards for Australian pros. Through these experiences he went on to produce a range of hand-shaped fibreglass furniture pieces, which has developed into this unusual witty formality in his work.
