COZUMEL, Mexico - Sub Sea Systems® has completed construction and installation of Clear Lounge® (patent pending)—the world’s first underwater oxygen bar.
“We’re excited to introduce such an innovative underwater attraction,” said Jim Mayfield, Sub Sea Systems’ President.

“We see experiences as one of the hottest trends in entertainment. Clear Lounge is truly a unique social novelty. It’s incredibly fun, memorable, and an activity guests are excited to share and talk about.”

Clear Lounge immerses guests in the experience of breathing enriched oxygen while playing games in a 13,000 gallon, high-tech, freestanding aquarium. Using a specialized clear diving helmet designed for non-swimmers, guests receive an airflow of invigorating oxygen mixed with an aromatherapy scent of their choice. A bartender entertains participants during the 20-minute underwater experience with activities including jenga, write-on message boards, and target practice with high-powered bubble guns.

The Clear Lounge aquarium also includes an underwater photo booth, another world’s first. Guests can choose a selection of props as they pose in front of a floor to surface, customizable digital display wall. Colorful LED lights and bubble curtains set the ambiance as guests play games, take photos, interact with spectators on the outside, and walk around in this near-zero gravity environment, day or night.

To keep the energy going out of the water, Clear Lounge serves all natural, oxygen-infused fruit smoothies. Oxygen consumption can revitalize and invigorate without the crash some experience from energy drinks.

The first Clear Lounge is operating at Carnival Corporation’s busiest transit, corporate-operated port— Puerta Maya in Cozumel, Mexico. A soft opening was celebrated on April 14th, with regularly scheduled tours starting April 23rd. The whole family can experience Clear Lounge (ages 8+). Experiences start at US $38 – walk-up bookings are accepted (space is limited) or reservations can be made online.

“Sub Sea Systems is currently constructing the next Clear Lounge system and we have plans to produce many more with flexible configurations” shared Mayfield.
